A sweet Amish romance about Bess who is going to be married to Amos, but she still has feelings for a long lost love Billy! Working with their roses they discover one they don’t know so her father calls in a rose rustler, who turns out to be Billy! Even though he says he is not interested in her anymore she is torn on what to do about her wedding!
The whole thing about rose rustling was a new concept to me, I really enjoy a story that also leaves you with some knowledge of things you didn’t know.
I received this book from Revell Books for an honest review!
I received this book for an honest review! This is the third book in this series and I had not read the other books! It would be better to read the first two books! This book is about a girl who was on the heavier side and wore glasses. She just returned from her time in paris all grown up and beautiful! This story reminds me of one of my favorite movies, Sabrina! Now she finds herself drawn to Bram, now as a man instead of an older brother! But then there is Devon who was one who always made her cry, but now he sees her as someone he would like to know! There are other things going on in this book too, and it would have been better to have read the first two books! It’s great how she weaves the gospel through her book!
From the Back Cover
She can turn the head of the man who spurned her–but can she turn his heart?
When Megan McClare left San Francisco to study in Paris, no one would accuse her of being poised and pretty. But on the other side of the Atlantic, this wallflower blossomed into a beauty with big dreams. When she returns to California and accepts an internship at the district attorney’s office, she’s thrilled that her life is taking shape. But the exciting opportunity quickly loses its glow when she discovers she’ll be working alongside Devin Caldwell, who mercilessly mocked her at school–and with whom she was hopelessly enamored.
Bram Hughes is the best friend to whom Megan has always turned for support and advice. But when she seeks his counsel about working with Devin Caldwell, Bram’s vision is clouded by his sudden unwelcome attraction to a girl he had always thought of as a little sister. He advises forgiveness, but can he forgive himself for pushing the woman he loves into the arms of another man?

This is book 2 in the Logan Point series by Patricia Bradley! Even though it’s book 2 it’s basically a stand alone book! This is the first book I’ve read by Patricia Bradley! So if you like romance and suspense this is the book for you!
Acting Sheriff Ben Logan hasn’t heard from Leigh Somerall in a very long time, but it doesn’t mean he can get her–or their whirlwind romance of ten years ago–out of his head. When she calls out of the blue, it is with a strange request to protect her brother, Tony. When Tony dies just days later, Ben is charged with a different task–protecting Leigh and her nine-year-old son, TJ, from the killers. But how can Ben keep an eye on Leigh if she’s doing everything in her power to avoid him? And could the secret that Leigh is keeping change Ben’s life forever?
Suspense, intrigue, and a touch of romance make A Promise to Protect perfect for readers who like their stories with a hearty dose of mystery.
This was a very suspenseful book! How would you feel if someone you cared very deeply for calls you out of the blue, and asks you to protect their brother! Then he gets killed before you can see him. This story has alot of twists and turns! How can he protect her when she keeps trying to avoid him! What are they looking for, does she have it? What secret is she keeping and why!
This book will make you cry!! Katriina is an abused 13 year old girl who doesn’t feel loved! One day an older girl comes around and befriends her, and she feels like she finally has a friend. Mary takes an interest in her listening to what Kat has to say, which makes her more endearing to her. One day she goes to some meetings with her mother where Billy Graham was speaking and she told her mom that was what she wanted and went up front, the words she remembered him saying were: God will never leave you or forsake you. Mary helped her to loose some weight and built up her self-esteem. Mary was grooming her for a life she didn’t know about, Mary took her and tried to sell her to a man for $550 but God intervened on her behalf. “Others came to help Kat make it up to Mary” they tried to kill her God intervened again! They moved but she was back to having no self-esteem and started hanging out with other kids who had been molested or abused! One of those became a good friend and after awhile found herself in a sex-trafficking ring. As I was reading this book I wondered how a girl could get pulled back in time after time, what a horrible time she went through and I would never want to see this happen to anyone so if you have daughters or friends with daughters you should tell them about it, I never knew it was happening all over. This book is about how God can bring triumph from tragedy!

From the Back Cover
We all have days that make us want to pull the covers back over our heads and eat a dozen cupcakes.
Thankfully, Jesus said we don’t “live on bread alone”–that includes cupcakes–“but on every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matt. 4:4). What we really need is truth.
If you’re tired, discouraged, or feel a little empty inside, my prayer is that by the end of our time together, you’ll be refreshed and nourished in a way that will sustain you through whatever the future may hold.
Remember, you’re not alone, my friend.
In this uplifting book, Holley Gerth invites you to be filled with the strength, peace, and joy that come from God’s promises. Each of the 52 devotions based on the Psalms will help you remember that God is good and we’re all in this together.Holley Gerth is a bestselling writer, certified life coach, and speaker. I chose Zote soap for my laundry soap.
We grated this bar of soap and it smells really good! We added it to water and melted it on the stove. I forgot to take a picture of the grated soap or when I was melting the soap!!
Then added 1/2 cup washing soda and 1/2 cup borax. Add this mixture to 3 gallons of hot water.
This is what it looks like after you mix together!! Let sit for 24 hours and then it will look like this.
I still have not put in jugs yet will get to that soon! This is saving us alot of money! I will be adding essential oils for making some of it a disinfectant by using either Thieves or Tea Tree oil for when family members are sick!!
